Obama is the biggest story right now. Basically it’s a great thing but there is so much hate going on right now, like I’m praying for him. We don’t run this world. The white man runs this world so there is going to be so many little obstacles and negative shit to come his way even if he becomes President.
Monica (Singer)
Whoever becomes our President, it had a lot to do with hip hop I believe. The biggest story in hip hop is still being told because to see the hip hop community participate in the election the way they have, it's unbelievable to me. And I think we are going to be able to move mountains because now I think they all realize we can really do something about the problems we see before us because everyone is suffering from it.
Melyssa Ford (Model/Actress)
The whole world is taking interest in the presidential election this year specifically because there has been such an incredible candidate in Barack Obama. So just watching everybody not just jump on the bandwagon but actually do their homework and understand what causes he supports and why he would be a great candidate for the next President is pretty fantastic.
Tiffany Evans (Singer)
Everything going on with the election the whole Obama and McCain thing I think it’s so important. I can’t vote, I have to wait a year and a half, but I’m still voting with my mouth. I think if you have a voice you have to speak up.
Killer Mike (Rapper)
Rappers have matured enough to not only speak on political topics but when they are wrong or if something isn’t right, to learn how to become better statesman, to come back and redirect their energy and keep the bigger focus. Like this Barack Obama campaign has really galvanized and matured hip hop in a way that I hadn’t seen coming and I’m terribly impressed by that.
