Director John Singleton will no longer direct a film-adaptation of “The A-Team” due to mounting issues with the film’s production studio Fox.
According to Variety, Fox asked to have the script delayed another year for development and Singleton refused. The project has reportedly been delayed several times before. “The A-Team” release was moved from June 12, 2009, to June 11, 2010.
In a January interview with Collider.com Singleton apparently had high hopes for the film, saying he was considering Woody Harrelson to play the role of Murdock, but Fox “haven’t told me anything yet. We’re just trying to figure out who is in it, and I’m working on all the pyrotechnics and personalities and who is in it.”
“The A-Team” was slated to be Singleton’s first film since 2005’s “Four Brothers”.
